Our New Masculinities program is aimed at supporting men in our partner communities in breaking down the barriers that machismo culture has built up over the years and developing interpersonal and professional skills to cultivate equitable leadership and strengthen economic opportunities. This largely consists of workshops where men discuss topics like women’s and children’s rights, leadership, equity, the meaning of masculinity, and similar topics. In addition, each group chooses a professional field that they would like to learn more about, for example: electrical systems, construction, motorcycle mechanics, coffee cultivation, etc. This allows them to develop career skills and, in turn, expand the possibilities for a prosperous future.
