Join us in Guatemala for the weekend of June 17-18, 2017! Meet with other supporters, connect with former volunteers and medical student interns who worked closely with Doc from the 1960s through the 1980s, meet the people who are part of our current work, walk the streets of Antigua, and more!
We’ll have plenty of optional pay-as-you-go activities on Saturday and Sunday morning for you, and on Sunday afternoon and evening, we will be hosting a fundraising celebration event and banquet at the Porta Hotel Antigua! A social hour with cash bar will begin at 5:00 PM; Dinner Celebration at 6:30 PM, with music and dancing to follow.
Please note, the reservation cost will increase from $50 to $60 per guest after April 15. Please register as soon as possible!

We highly recommend making your travel plans right away, as accommodations in Antigua tend to fill up. Rooms have been reserved for ALDEA at the Porta Hotel Antigua, 8a Calle Poniente, No. 1. Actual reservations can be made under ALDEA by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or visiting antiguatours.net. Rates are $183 including tax for double or single occupancy. You can also make your own reservations elsewhere; contact Barbara Yost at (703) 329-5333 or email@example.com or Jessica LaBumbard at (313) 205-4249 or firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance and other hotel recommendations. We can also assist you with shuttle transportation to/from the airport, or you can arrange your own.
We are still organizing optional, ALDEA-sponsored Saturday and Sunday morning activities, including tours of local attractions and social gatherings, and we’ll share those updates with dinner registrants as they become available. The Antigua area also offers plenty of visitor opportunities you can plan on your own. We are compiling a list of our favorites to be posted soon. The New York Times produced a 36-hour weekend travel piece highlighting Antigua’s attractions in 2015. You may view their video and recommendations here.
Depending on interest, we may be able to offer a one-day visit to one of our partner villages on Friday, June 16 for those participating in the Reunion Weekend (Mini-Tour participants will make separate village visits). If you would like to participate in a village visit, please indicate this on your registration form.
We will also be offering pre- and post-events such as deep water fishing and golf based on interest!
